The Estonian care home operator S\u00fcdamekodud is acquiring the Valkla special care complex from the state-owned AS Hoolekandeteenused, which provides special welfare services. \nAt the end of 2020, AS Hoolekandeteenused put the Valkla care home properties up for public auction. The purchase and sale agreement will be signed with S\u00fcdamekodud, the private care home operator that submitted the winning bid. The buildings will be handed over to the new owner by June at the latest, S\u00fcdamekodud announced.
\n\u201cOur goal is to reconstruct the approximately 6,000-square-meter Valkla complex and create a safe and modern living environment for older people. In designing the new environment, we are drawing inspiration from well-functioning Nordic models,\u201d said Martin Kukk<\/strong>, Chairman of the Board of S\u00fcdamekodud. He added that the company will begin recruiting new employees in the first phase. According to Kukk, the company will need several dozen new staff members in Valkla already this year.

\nCurrently, the company operates K\u00e4ru S\u00fcdamekodu in T\u00fcri municipality, V\u00e4rska S\u00fcdamekodu in Setomaa, Lihula S\u00fcdamekodu in L\u00e4\u00e4neranna, Saaremaa S\u00fcdamekodu in Saaremaa, Kunda S\u00fcdamekodu in Viru-Nigula, and Piigaste S\u00fcdamekodu in Kanepi.
