K\u00e4ru S\u00fcdamekodu<\/strong> provides services to 25 people living with dementia.
\n\u201cK\u00e4ru S\u00fcdamekodu has adapted its environment and services to meet the needs of clients with dementia and fully deserves this recognition. We believe that awarding this designation highlights the institution\u2019s values and sets an example for all other organisations providing care for people with dementia,\u201d the competence centre stated.
\nThe dementia-friendly label is awarded for three years and can be applied for by institutions that consciously develop their environment and services, train staff with a focus on the needs of people with dementia, and whose development goals are aligned with this group of clients. The criteria for earning the label were developed in cooperation with the Health Development Institute, the Council of Social Care Institution Leaders, and the Social Insurance Board.
