Estonia\u2019s largest elderly care group, S\u00fcdamekodud AS, has acquired the property and operating rights of O\u00dc H\u00e4ckelt Paide Pansionaat. As part of the transaction, AS S\u00fcdamekodud took over <\/strong>all Paide Pansionaat client and employment contracts.<\/strong> Going forward, the 125-bed facility will become Paide S\u00fcdamekodu, offering a more personalised and broader range of services.<\/strong> The S\u00fcdamekodud group now operates 11 care homes across Estonia. \nAccording to S\u00fcdamekodud Supervisory Board Chairman Martin Kukk<\/strong>, the group\u2019s broader goal \u2014 alongside developing new and existing living environments \u2014 is to drive a qualitative leap in care services. \u201cPaide Pansionaat is a well-functioning home, and its central Estonian location offers an opportunity to serve elderly residents from all over the country. The care home team is highly professional and competent. As care reform harmonises service standards, we plan to create up to 15 new jobs at Paide S\u00fcdamekodu in the near future. It is important that residents receive more personal attention and access to a broader, modern range of services,\u201d explained Kukk, adding that improving and equalising care quality is vital beyond the capital region as well.
\nPreviously used as a school, the building was reconstructed into a care institution by the former owner in 2013. In 2019, an extension was added, allowing the home to accommodate 125 residents. Paide Pansionaat provides both short- and long-term care services with full nursing and medical supervision.
\nIn addition to acquiring the Paide care home, S\u00fcdamekodud is actively expanding other homes within the group \u2014 by the end of this year, an extension will be completed at Lihula S\u00fcdamekodu, and in July 2024, the first stage of the brand-new Tartu S\u00fcdamekodu will open in the Raadi district. By the end of 2024, the final building wing in Valkla is also expected to be renovated.
