\nThe ribbon at the opening ceremony was cut by S\u00fcdamekodud Council Chairman Martin Kukk<\/strong> and Kunda S\u00fcdamekodu Manager Derry Vimberg<\/strong>. Former managers of the care home also attended the event.
\nFor the Kunda S\u00fcdamekodu family, the elevator is an important and long-awaited addition. It significantly eases daily life for both residents and staff, and now those living on the second floor can easily access the surrounding garden for walks. As the elevator is located on the building\u2019s exterior and features glass walls, passengers can enjoy scenic views of the care home grounds during the ride.
\nS\u00fcdamekodud has been operating in Kunda since 2019. The care home provides 24-hour general care services for elderly people and individuals with mild disabilities, both for temporary and permanent stays. The home accommodates 63 residents supported by 27 staff members. Kunda S\u00fcdamekodu has been continuously developed \u2014 the building\u2019s exterior was renovated in 2019, and part of the interior was refreshed in 2022. The existing orchard will be expanded next year with a decorative garden and new recreation areas.
\nS\u00fcdamekodud is Estonia\u2019s largest provider of elderly care services, operating 11 care homes across the country. In addition to Kunda, the group\u2019s homes are located in Kohtla-J\u00e4rve, Valkla, K\u00e4ru, Paide, Piigaste, V\u00e4rska, Lihula, Saaremaa, and Tallinn (Meriv\u00e4lja and Pirita). S\u00fcdamekodud is actively expanding \u2014 this summer, a new wing opened at Valkla S\u00fcdamekodu; by the end of the year, an extension will be completed at Lihula S\u00fcdamekodu; and in July 2024, the first stage of a brand-new Tartu S\u00fcdamekodu will open in the Raadi district.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
