Merivälja Südamekodu is located in a peaceful suburb of Tallinn, yet close to the city centre. The seaside is less than 700 metres away, and the downtown area is about 7 kilometres away. Public transport provides quick access to the city centre and nearby neighbourhoods. The well-furnished single and double rooms at Merivälja Südamekodu create a safe and cosy home-like atmosphere for its residents.
Merivälja Südamekodu offers comfortable living in a warm and inviting environment, with the entire building expertly designed to ensure easy and barrier-free access throughout. Soft colour tones, beautiful furniture and decorative details add to the sense of home. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture and personal mementos. Merivälja Südamekodu features a spacious lobby with a reception, cosy common areas, a café, a large hall for events and dining rooms on each floor. Regular hairdressing, manicure-pedicure and massage services are also available.

Services

Nursing service

The nurses working at Merivälja Südamekodu monitor residents’ health conditions, notice any changes, ensure the correct administration of medications prescribed by doctors, communicate with the resident’s family or attending physician, and provide care that supports the medical treatment and diagnostic procedures prescribed by the doctor.

Hygiene services

Weekly general washing of residents, including hand and foot care. Once a week, personal laundry is washed, bed linen is changed, and rooms are cleaned. More frequently if necessary. Assistance and guidance with oral hygiene and toilet procedures.

Activities

Quality of life and joy of living play an important role at Merivälja Südamekodu. Our programme of activities and events offers opportunities that engage both the mind and body. Special attention is given to maintaining and developing existing strengths and abilities. The aim of activating and restorative activities, such as chair exercises or specialised sessions, is to support residents’ independence. We also take an individual approach to each resident.

A wide range of shared activities keeps boredom at bay and offers engaging social interaction. Weekly activities provide our residents with plenty of challenges and fun through quizzes and crossword puzzles. Meetings with interesting guests are also held regularly.

A highlight of every month is the celebration of birthdays, complete with cake, coffee and music. Beloved Estonian artists often perform concerts for the residents.

Rooms

Accommodation is provided in single and double rooms. The building is equipped with a lift that allows access between floors with both a stretcher and a wheelchair.

Catering

Meals are served four times a day at Südamekodu. Three times a day, delicious home-cooked meals are served, and a midnight snack is also provided. The menu is varied and suitable for the elderly. The menu is designed to meet the needs of diabetics and people with allergies. Each floor has coffee and tea making facilities and a shared refrigerator for clients to use.

Natural environment

Merivälja Südamekodu is located in the middle of a large park, close to the sea and away from the noise of the city.

ELDERLY CARE SERVICE LEVEL 1 For residents with low care needs Elderly Care Service level 1 is intended for residents with low care needs who are able to independently manage many self-care activities but require minimal or partial guidance and assistance with daily activities. Our professional and experienced staff provide support with eating, dressing, mobility, washing, handling daily matters, etc.	1750€*
ELDERLY CARE SERVICE LEVEL 2 For residents with moderate care needs Elderly Care Service level 2 is intended for residents with moderate care needs who require partial or full guidance and assistance with many daily activities provided by our experienced staff. Our professional and experienced staff assist with eating, hygiene procedures, handling daily matters, dressing, changing incontinence products, mobility, etc.	+150 €
ELDERLY CARE SERVICE LEVEL 3 For residents with high care needs Elderly Care Service level 3 is intended for residents with high care needs whose physical capacity is very limited and/or who suffer from memory disorders. The resident requires full care and assistance with daily activities and self-care. Our professional and experienced staff assist with eating, cleaning, handling daily matters, dressing, changing incontinence products, repositioning, mobility, washing, stoma care, catheter replacement, etc.	+250 €
ELDERLY CARE SERVICE LEVEL 4 Elderly Care Service level 4 is intended for residents diagnosed with dementia syndrome, assessed cognitive impairment (using the Mini-Mental test), a severe infection, or who suffer from a dependency disorder (e.g. alcoholism or drug addiction). The resident requires care, supervision and assistance with daily activities and self-care. Our professional and experienced staff assist with eating, cleaning, handling daily matters, dressing, changing incontinence products, repositioning, mobility, washing, stoma care, catheter replacement, etc.	+350 €
RESERVATION FEE The reservation fee applies if a vacant place is offered by Südamekodud and the prospective resident wishes to reserve the place without starting to use the service immediately. During the reservation period, the elderly care home place is kept for the resident and is not offered to other interested parties. The reservation fee applies from the 4th day.	45€ / day

The level of care services is determined at the time of admission to the care service. The client, co-financier, and service provider participate in the process. If the need for care services changes, the price may also change according to the level and price list.
