Pirita Südamekodus avati uus majaosa – lisandus 16 hoolduskohta

A new building section was opened at Pirita Südamekodu, adding 16 new care places. In addition to living spaces, the new section includes dedicated rooms for additional services, enabling residents to maintain their usual daily rhythm and enjoy small everyday pleasures without leaving their home. This supports both residents’ independence and the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones and guests. Separate rooms were created for massage, physiotherapy and hairdressing services. The popular Südamekohvik was also expanded with a separate area that can be transformed into a private space for celebrating special occasions with family.

With the completion of the new section, the entire Pirita Südamekodu building is now in use as an elderly care home. During renovation works, special attention was paid to natural light, homeliness and ease of movement, ensuring that the living environment supports residents’ daily functioning and well-being. The new rooms have been designed to blend naturally with the existing home-like environment and create a cohesive and peaceful living space.

The new department mainly consists of double rooms, offering residents both comfort and privacy. With the opening of the new section, Pirita Südamekodu now has a total capacity of 246 residents.

“When creating the new building section, we created a home – people come here to live. We consciously ensured that everything necessary and important comes to the older person – whether it is a manicure, pedicure, massage or celebrating a jubilee. Why should an older person be taken out of their home when guests can come and bring joy right here, in their own home,” said Pirita Südamekodu Manager Jane Kallion.

Pirita Südamekodu is located in the scenic area of Pirita-Kose, just 15 minutes from Tallinn city centre. The location is close enough for convenient visits from loved ones, yet sufficiently secluded to offer residents peace and privacy. The care home is surrounded by beautiful nature, the Pirita River and walking and health trails, supporting a safe and tranquil living environment.
