The Supervisory Board of Südamekodud has appointed Keiu Talve, currently a Member of the Management Board and Head of Quality and Services, as the company’s new CEO. Talve will take up the position on 1 November.
Keiu Talve has worked at Südamekodud since May 2021, when she joined the company as Quality Manager. Since January 2025, she has served as a Member of the Management Board of Südamekodud, with responsibility for services and quality.
“I am pleased that Südamekodud will be led by someone from within the organisation who knows our residents, employees and the company’s day-to-day operations very well,” said Peter Lednický, CEO of Penta Hospitals International, the owner of Südamekodud. “Keiu has an excellent understanding of both the Südamekodud organisation and the Estonian care sector. She has made an invaluable contribution to developing the company’s quality standards and services. Her appointment as CEO is a natural continuation of the work she has already done,” Lednický added.
According to Keiu Talve, one of her most important goals as CEO is to continue developing both the quality of services and the organisation as a whole. “Südamekodud has grown rapidly in recent years, and our responsibility has grown along with it. For me, every development and change begins with the question of how we can provide elderly people with the best possible living environment—one that is safe and feels like home. High-quality care is built on professional and dedicated employees, and we invest in supporting and training them every day,” Talve said.
Until now, Südamekodud has been managed jointly by Keiu Talve and Meelis Mälberg. Mälberg will continue working with Südamekodud as an external partner and will be responsible for the continuation of the development projects already under way. Among other things, he will oversee the completion of the Tartu Südamekodu extension, which will add 72 care home places for people with memory disorders in Tartu. Under the current schedule, construction work at Tartu Südamekodu is expected to be completed in July 2027.
“Since 2018, Meelis has made a significant contribution to the development and growth of Südamekodud. We thank him for his work and are pleased that he will remain involved with Südamekodud,” Lednický added.
Südamekodud is part of Penta Hospitals International, Central Europe’s largest provider of healthcare and long-term social care. The Südamekodud group operates care homes across Estonia and provides care services to more than 1,500 people.
